The Temecula Valley is an easily accesible location for anyone living or traveling in Southern California. It is a great place for novices to embark upon their lifelong wine tasting journey. A vast majority of Temecula's guests are visiting a wine country for the very first time. Typical tasting hours at the wineries are 10a-5p, 7 days a week. Contact the individual wineries for holiday hours. Most wineries charge a fee to taste their wines, which typically range between $7 and $12, depending upon the winery. You will taste an average of 5 wines at each winery. Not much wine, you may think? A sample pour is 1 to 1 1/4 ounce on average. To provide perspective on how much alcohol one consumes when tasting, one glass of wine is four ounces. One bottle of wine is four glasses of wine. Tasting 15 samples at three wineries, you have consumed in excess of one full bottle of wine. Dress is casual. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Saturday is by far the busiest day in wine country. If you have a choice of days to visit, you will likely enjoy a more personal experience if your visit is during the week. Keep in mind the best wines in the Temecula Valley are the ones YOU like.
